Avalanche Dogs Assessment

Three days assessment for New Zealand Search and Rescue Dogs had taken place on the Snow Farm near the Cardrona ski resort this year. It happened to be an awesome weather with a blue sky, which made all the snow digging and search pleasant experience and let the aspirants fully focus on given task and present their skills.

Article in the Wilderness magazine by V. Slivova, featuring my photographs will bring you deeper inside from the world of dogs specially trained for search and rescue, with a main focus on the avalanche rescue. Their handlers are well committed people with love for outdoors and passion for their four legged friends. They invest countless time and considerable amounts of money to help other people, when in need. They are all volunteers and their main reward is a friendly smile from the people on the snow fields.
